Join artists Qiu Anxiong and Howie Tsui in conversation with curator Rebecca Wang for an online artist talk in conjunction with The Roaming Peach Blossom Spring exhibition. Together, they explore the cultural and historical inspirations behind their works—from ancient mythology to martial arts fiction—and how they use traditional art forms to comment on modern life. The session is hosted as a live Zoom webinar and includes automated English captions.

🎤 About the Presenters:
Qiu Anxiong (邱岸雄) is a leading figure in contemporary Chinese ink animation and a professor at East China Normal University. His works are held in top global institutions including MoMA, the Centre Pompidou, and M+ in Hong Kong. He has exhibited at The Met, São Paulo Biennial, and the Asia-Pacific Triennial.

Howie Tsui (徐浩恩), a Hong Kong-born Canadian artist based in Vancouver, uses animation, ink, and sculpture to critique cultural orthodoxy and reflect on diasporic experience. His work has been shown at The Power Plant (Toronto), Tai Kwun (Hong Kong), and the National Gallery of Canada.

Rebecca Wang (王晨釔), curator and artist, works between Vancouver and Hangzhou. Her work blends folklore, daily life, and diasporic narratives. She curates with Richmond Art Gallery and is currently completing her MA in Curatorial Studies at UBC.
