In dialogue with BBC journalist Stephen Sackur, Weiwei will reflect on his lifeβfrom being raised in a labour camp to enduring surveillance and secret detention by the Chinese stateβand on the global rise of censorship, including its subtler forms in democratic societies. The event will also mark the launch of Ai Weiwei’s latest book, On Censorship.
