Part of the CSC International Research Webinar Series, this talk examines how distributive politics within China’s bureaucratic system influence renewable energy development. While much of the literature focuses on electoral incentives, this study uses new data to explore bureaucratic favoritism in renewable energy project approvals at the subnational level.
