Based on new archival sources and interviews, the talk explores Xi Zhongxunโ€™s role in shaping CCP policy from the revolutionary period through reform-era China, including his influence on the Special Economic Zones and United Front work. The book offers insight into how personal identity and Party loyalty intersected in Xi Zhongxunโ€™s lifeโ€”and how his legacy may illuminate the leadership of his son.
