Please avoid using the term “taking in” in this context. Bu was neither homeless nor someone in need of shelter. She was living a happy life surrounded by her loving family. Her situation changed tragically when a stranger, a man, saw her, kidnapped her, and enslaved her sexually for 13 years. Referring to this as “taking in” severely misrepresents and dilutes the heinous crime committed against her. It is crucial to acknowledge the gravity of what that monster did to this innocent woman without minimizing it in any way.
