Based on his latest book The Milk Tea Alliance: Inside Asia’s Struggle Against Autocracy and Beijing, this talk unpacks the deepening connections among youth-led movements in Hong Kong, Thailand, Myanmar, and beyond, as they push back against authoritarianism.
Wasserstrom will explore:
China’s rise and its regional influence
The rise of the Milk Tea Alliance and transnational youth activism
Firsthand stories of resistance, solidarity, and dissent
