🏷️ Description:
What does it mean to be a writer after winning the Nobel Prize? This special lecture by Dr. Pan Geng, a student of Mo Yan and expert on his work, explores how China’s first Nobel laureate in literature has continued to evolve as a cultural figure.

The talk will highlight Mo Yan’s transition from novelist to playwright, his contributions to Chinese stage arts, and his ongoing literary and social engagement through poetry, calligraphy, new media platforms, and philanthropy.

Through these lenses, Dr. Pan presents a multifaceted portrait of Mo Yan—not only as an author, but also as a public intellectual, cultural custodian, and socially engaged literary figure in contemporary China.
